Beyond Boundaries: The WSSU Senior Thesis Exhibition
Winston-Salem State University (WSSU) presents Beyond Boundaries: The WSSU Senior Thesis Exhibition, celebrating the creative accomplishments of the graduating art students. This exhibition showcases the diverse talents of WSSU’s Visual Arts + Performing Track students, featuring a variety of media including painting, sculpture, photography, and digital art.
WSSU’s art program has a strong track record of preparing students for success in the arts industry. Alumni are making their mark in galleries, museums, design, and entertainment, while others pursue advanced education at prestigious schools like the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) and the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). Many students also go directly into the workforce, equipped with the technical skills and creative confidence honed during their time at WSSU.
Traditionally, the Senior Thesis Exhibition was held at the Diggs Gallery, where students managed every aspect of the show. Since the closure of Diggs due to COVID-19, students have hosted the exhibition online, reaching a wider audience. This year, however, students are thrilled to present their work in person once again, offering a chance to engage directly with the community and celebrate their hard work.
Beyond Boundaries is not just a showcase of art; it’s a celebration of resilience and innovation. After a challenging year, these students are excited to share their journeys and creativity with the public. Whether in person or online, the exhibition invites all to explore the boundary-pushing works of WSSU’s talented senior artists.
